Building a Stronger Network
Program Description: Networking is one of the most powerful tools professionals can develop, but it takes time, energy and commitment in order to build a strong network. Having a strong network will assist you in launching a new idea or plan, developing new business and clients, reducing costs in recruiting, and leveraging your career.
Program Abstract: Building a strong network doesn’t happen around a water cooler, at a cocktail social, or at reunions with old friends. Building a strong network is not accomplished within the average workday. It requires dedication and commitment outside of the office, in the evenings and on weekends.
This networking presentation will cover the following areas:
- Identifying the different types of networks that exist
- Identifying various types influences in our lives
- Identifying the different types of networking structures
- Developing your network
- Demonstrate how to put your “Networking in Action”.
We will spend 60 - 75 minutes increasing our awareness of the areas outlined above and spend the remaining time working to better identify and leverage our network. We will be using a document entitled “Identifying and Building Your Network” to begin identifying our contacts and who introduced them to us. We will go through a process of analyzing our contacts to identify opportunities in strengthening our network.
Learning Outcomes: Following completion of the session, participants will be able to:
- Summarize the five influences of catalytic individuals and recognize the various roles that they contribute in their professional network
- Distinguish between a clique and entrepreneurial network
- Identify new opportunities in order to create an entrepreneurial network
- Analyze our professional and social networks
- Apply the tools from the workshop in order to increase and strengthen one’s professional network.
Program Delivery: This program is offered as a one hour keynote or a two hour workshop.
